What causes diffusion pumps to overheat?
There is a temperature limit switch on the pump. This could be faulty. Possibly low oil level and/or insufficient water flow. The water cooling tubing is a long and tortuous path and poor water quality could cause these lines to partially clog. Mineral deposits and dirt in the lines.
